Page permissions not working

Ok I have set advanced permissions in the config.
Set up an editor group and added an editor member to this.
I have set permissions per page for the editor to be able to view / edit.
For example I have allowed them to see the sitemap and pages in the sitemap.
When I log in as the editor i get the message on the dashboard
You do not have access to the sitemap.
I have clearly set the permissions for that page.
What is wrong?

try visiting dashboard > full sitemap. Click to show system pages, expand dashboard, and click to edit permissions on sitemap. Make sure that user group has view access.
Thanks, Turns out I had to go to task permissions and allow the editor to access the sitemap too.
