Page Templates

First of all I need to admit that I am not a developer just a rank amateur!! I have recently downloaded C5 and I guess I'm very fortunate that this is my very first attempt at using a CMS system and so far it has been incredible (for a rank amateur) to build my site. I don’t have a problem as such but I am very conscious that at the stage I am presently at I need to think very carefully about how I structure the website. I will have lots of absolute identical pages (almost 400) and have already designed the look and feel of the “master” page.
How do I make my life easy from this point so that I just call up the “template” and upload the new data... which will be predominantly images? Also what happens say after creating 100 replica pages and uploading the data that I suddenly realise that I should have added a Form or any other block is it just a case of going to the template and putting it in there and all 100 pages would automatically update?
I realise this is very basic stuff and the answers are probably in a tutorial somewhere but cannot seem to locate the information I need so any help will be extremely well received.

You should look at "Page Defaults" under the "Themes" section of the dashboard.
If you add blocks to the "Page Defaults" and save these templates, when you create new pages in the future these blocks will be included.
From my experience if you create blocks in the global scrapbook and then insert them into the Page Defaults, when you edit the block in the scrapbook later on, the changes will cascade through all existing pages.
If you add a block as a page default later on and want it to be included on existing pages that don't already have it, click on the block in question and select "Setup on child pages"
Hope this helps.
