Page_list description is not showing up

Hi
I am experiencing this annoying problem:
The content is not showing up in the page_list, no matter what I do.
I am using the buil-in template, and also tried others, but to no avail.

One of the things I love most about Concrete5 is the page_list block, so it is very frustrating that it is not fully functioning.

I have tried in both these versions: 5.7.3.1 and 5.7.4.2.

I have of course searched for a solution, but couldn't find any - only this post, which is describing the exact same problem:http://www.concrete5.org/community/forums/customizing_c5/descriptio...

I would be very very happy if any of you know a solution to this, or at least are able to point me in the right direction.

Looking forward to hearing from you !

I have a test site setup with 5.7.4.2 and without a custom template the "Description" field shows if I enable that option in the Page List block settings.

Can you provide the settings that you have set within the block as well as which Custom Template you are using and perhaps a screenshot or link to the page that isn't working and the back end showing that the attribute is set? Also make sure you clear the cache (probably a few times since once doesn't seem to do it) before you test.

Thank you very much for your reply...

Well, from your reply I realised (when you mentioned attributes in the backend) that I was not looking for the description.
What I am looking for is instead a shortening of content from blocks on the page displayed in an excerpt.
In 5.6 it was out of the box and part of the template.

Do you know how I can accomplish this in 5.7?

Others are looking for the same:

That thread seems to be indicating a specific page type, not just any old page within the system. When you were doing this with 5.6 what page type were you using and what "out of the box" template? Was this part of an Add-On?
