pages do not inherit the changes in page type

Dear all,

i'm a n00b at C5 and I've alredy searched on the forum for similar questions, but maybe I use wrong keywords...

I've this problem: I modified a pagetype to include some standard blocks that I want in all pages created. Then I created a page based on this page type.

Now I want to add a new block in this pagetype, and see it replicated on all pages based on this pagetype, but this not happen.

What I can do to achieve this goal?

Thanks a lot

P.S. my primary goal is to have a 3 column site where left and right columns are with a fixed content (equals to all pages) and the central column changes, there is a better way that what i'm doing?

The best way to do this is through your site's Dashboard.
Go to Dashboard> Pages & Themes> and then click the Page Types tab at the top.
Here you will see a list of available Page Types in your site. By clicking "Defaults" you'll be able to add/delete and edit blocks that will apply to all pages of that page type.

If you are using a block that you know will change every-so-often then first create it as part of a scrapbook. Add it to your page default and then when you want to update that block you do so via the scrapbook and the change is effective site-wide.

If you already have a handful of pages already created and you want to add the block to all of them then after adding the block click it again and choose "Set-Up on Child Pages" click all the pages your want the new block to appear on...

"Set-Up on Child Pages" is exactly what I'm looking for!
