Pagetype does not go and get the PHP it relate to

I have been going through the video series on building a theme.
I have then created an default.php, and a right sidebar with the name right_sidebar.php.
I then goes into pagetype and create a new pagetype, with an handle called right_sidebar.
It then shows up under design, but when i choose the right sidebar, it does not get the information from the right_sidebar.php, but from the default.php
What have been changed since the video series has been made???????
