Partners for commercial C5 theme development

I currently have my first C5 theme going through PRB called Cobalt and I'm looking forward to producing several more this year. I'm seeking qualified theme developers with coding and/or design skills who would like to produce themes for the marketplace but don't have enough spare time and/or money and/or various skillsets needed to do so on their own.

It can be slow going to produce a commercially viable product whether it's a theme or addon. And once you've got it ready, great but there is still work to do getting it approved, making sales and managing support. And that's not all, you'll also need to continually upgrade and improve the product and do ongoing marketing if you really want to maximize it's potential. Of course the potential reward, is the chance to make residual revenue from work already performed, and to work toward having that become a significant income stream. Is that worth aiming for? I certainly believe so and I hope you do as well.

So my proposal is to share the workload which helps speed up the process and scales the work to where it becomes feasible for some of us who can't do it alone. I'm interested in talking with qualified people who can contribute anywhere from 2-hours per week up to 10-hours per week. Ideal candidates have at least 1 approved theme in the C5 marketplace and/or have built custom C5 themes for client sites. However I'm also happy to take on relative novices to C5 so long as you have coding experience and willingness to learn. We will provide an informal training program to newcomers and in some cases pay for some formal study materials if you make a commitment to stay with our program after completion of training.

I want to add that designers (graphic designers, UX designers) are also definitely welcome and certainly have a big role to play in theme development. And if you are a designer who owns the copyright on themes for Drupal, Wordpress or Joomla we would be interested in converting those themes to C5 as part of this program so this could be a way to do something with work you've already created.

There is no cash payment offered here which is why I'm not posting this to jobs. I'm offering shares in the finalized themes that will be sold in the C5 marketplace. And the model I am proposing here is to divide the work up into fairly small so that on a 250-hour project, 6-8 people would be providing an average of 35-hours each over a span of around 8-weeks. Some can provide more, others less according to their availability, and the result is shares will be distributed according to the hours worked.

If you are interested in this opportunity please contact me by PM for details or post comments and questions here.
