Pasting individual blocks from Stacks

Is this still broken? (or not working as intended), as in edits made to the parent block not propagating to the aliases. Of course I learnt this the hard way before reading the posts in the forums :) So for now, I've recreated them as one stack per block.

But my question is, do we have to wait until 5.7 for this to be fixed?
