Please help can not edit homepage

I can not edit the homepage anymore, only a blank banner is showing at the top and the edit button on the left is missing.

As sugested on the forum I tried to restore a older version of the page, but this does not work.

Tried to replace the homepage by a copy, but this is not possible.

When I make a copy from the homepage as a normal page the button is back.

Can some one help me?

make sure you have
loader::element('footer_required');
somewhere in your theme.

did you get this sorted? I tried thosteg's solution but it didn't work for me.

I had a similar problem where only the homepage could not be edited, but every other page could.

After first not finding a solution, the following solved it:
