Problem with a logo that I cannot delete.

Hi Folks.

I am a an old school print and branding designer and, whilst I have dipped my toe in new media design from time to time - I am most certainly NOT a web designer. That being said, I have a client who has asked me to redesign a website for them.

The existing design was created in Concrete5, which is completely new to me - and so I have been devouring as much info as I can about what Concrete5 is and how to work with it.

The client wants to add their own content, and they would like me to rebuild a new site, using the same system - i.e. Concrete5.

That is fine and I am sure I can get to grips with it - but I have an issue at the outset that is doing my head in.

The previous designer had a logo, this seems to be embedded into the header some how. But in Edit mode, I cannot get to the logo. If I customize the theme from the dashboard I cannot get to the logo to remove it. I am at a loss. The site is:www.www.heavenlyhairstyling.co.uk... and I have attached a screenshot where you can see the issue. The logo no longer exists, so at the moment, there is a broken link. But I need to remove this completely, I just cannot work out how.

Within Google Chrome, I inspected elements and managed to find the code lines with this logo in place, and I delete this code from the side inspection bar, but then when I save it, the damn logo reappears as it was beforehand.

It is probably a quick an easy fix - and I will kick myself I expect, but right now I cannot work it out and so hopefully someone here can point me in the right direction!!

Hi TenSevenSeven,

The site is not available.

It sounds like the logo may be hard coded in a theme file. This file would be in the theme folder and probably called header.php.

Many browsers can let you "inspect element." It's probably in a theme somewhere, as others have said.

Find the path where it's coming from, and replace the missing file with a 1pixelx1pixel black dot file for now. Then you can go hunting down the references in the other scripts. It's a workaround, not a fix.

Hi,

It could also have been added as a stack? So the stack itself contains the logo and was then dropped onto the page.

Check under Stacks & Blocks perhaps?

What theme are you using?

Cheers,
