Question about - Properties > Page paths and Locations - and building a new C5 site

We are in the process of building a new site in C5 to replace an existing site (Built using Dreamweaver and Cold Fusion etc) that is on another domain and host. This is a very large content site with high traffic and great stats so we are very concerned about negatively affecting that while in this process.

It looked as though we could use the Page Paths and Locations tool in the Properties settings for a page to make the SE's aware of what is going on so we are not penalized for Duplicate content etc. After putting in the url of the existing content which is on a completely different site as mentioned it looks as though this may not work since C5 inserts the following before the actual URL "/http//" without the quotes.

Can anyone tell us if this will work or if this will cause a problem? It is not clear if this tool can only be used for dev on the same domain or if it can be used the way we are trying as well.

Thank you for your help

if you are worried about this in concrete5 then I have put up an addon for concrete5 that logs and lets you create actions based on urls you enter, or bad requests made through your site. It has been reviewed well, everyone seems to love it so it should make it into the marketplace pretty soon.

you can play around with it athttp://concrete5demo.phpfogapp.com?demo=1... go to the dashboard and let me know if that isn't what you are looking for.
