Really Really Slow Site

Hi guys,
I'm developing a site that is running really slow...

I have a few add ons running on it (ad server, dealer locator, and a custom image gallery block), will this affect the site? Every page is taking 20 - 25 secs to load.
The server is running zend optimiser which is the only module available.
It is running on a zeus server, will this affect the speed?
I've built a few C5 sites and this issue is the first time I've come across it. Any ideas how to debug this?

I have to assume you're running this site on a shared server or a production environment. In my experience, even sub-par hosting would load your site quicker than what we are seeing. The add-ons you mention should not affect your load times. I would check with your hosting first on this one.

We've had a few concrete5 sites hosted on the same server and those seem to be fine the only difference is they were much older c5 versions.
The issue is not the actual loading of the page, more so there is a couple seconds delay before you even see the page begin to load so I am guessing it must be how the server is processing the code and also fetching the data from the db.

Is your site on a virtual server? In my experiences virtual servers run c5 extremely slow.
