Registration block and Login together

Is there anyway I can have new member registration on the same page as the login?

er.....no. Unless you decide to make everyone a member of the administrator group, then registration is completely safe. A registered user is no different to a guest user unless you assign them specific permissions to do things. Guest users have specific permissions too, that's why removing read access makes pages private.
In order to have registration and login on the same page, you would need to take the code that is to be found in concrete/single_pages/login.php + register.php and create a new register.php or login.php which you'd deposit in /single_pages to override the exiting one(s).
You might need to be careful how you submit the two forms, since they would expect to go to different places.

jero,
Yes, you're right. I never opened registration and never even thought about it, so for me it's like "Only add people you trust", since everyone I add is to edit, but now that I stop to think about it, it really is not a logical way of thinking.

Thanks for your responses.
Basically I think it is much better from a user point-of-view to be sent to a single page from a single button with either the option to register or to login rather than 2 buttons sending users to either the login page or a registration page. But this might be a nightmare from a C5 technical point-of-view.
I'll backup my pages and give it a try...

Have you seen this How-To explaining what you are asking for?

Hi trixiemay,
Basically it is possible but need some development work. I'm developing the same one but instead of a page, it has a sliding login panel. It is already uploaded in to the marketplace for approve. Hope it will be available shortly.

1 - Why: Registering in C5 is pretty Dangerous. Means you're giving access to your website's core system to someone... Nasty.
2 - How...?
I mean, hard-code to the theme, on a Single Page, just add to any page on your design?
Lots of possible approaches. A quick-search on the Marketplace Add-Ons will get you to a few Login Blocks and one or two for registration. Maybe that's what you want?
If you explain better why would you need people to register, we may understand what you're planning, and help thinking of the best approach.
