Relaunching website, Fresh start tips needed
Permalink
Hello All!
To the few that might be familiar with me an my incessant questions I thank you for you patience and assure you I'm learning a lot about website management and I'm better now. Thank you for your inputs, to name a few users: 55webdesign, tallacman, Johnthefish. :)
Anyhow about the relaunch, I've got the content up and ready for my website but it needs to be be properly added to the silence themed website. Presently it looks like a mess because I just switched. Thus I would like to install silence on a clean slate and add content within the theme's default layout. Am I correct in assumping the theme one a fresh installation will have the structure the theme has on it's demo website?
Well that's all. I have my old website content but would like to start fresh and copy from that. Tips on doing this would be appreciated. :)

Okay, thanks for clearing that up! Here I was being naive thinking a the creator of the theme would send along the demo website xD
So you're basically suggesting I copy paste. But that's not actually the problem the real problem is that to be able to do that properly I want to get rid of the present clutter of things from the past and some new things. But alas I think it'll be a head to do a fresh install and then install all the packages again eh?

When you install a theme, it will not install any content (though some themes may include a few pictures). When you activate a theme, any existing content takes on the 'look' of the activated theme, as does any new content added.
To load content from another (ie your existing) site, unless a site is very big it is usually easiest and most robust to simply add the pages manually, edit them and cut and paste into content (or other) blocks.
