Remove area from search index

Hullo all,
Does anyone know how to exclude an area from the search index? I've found a fair bit of discussion on the old problem of adding areas, but this seems to be changed now to search all areas by default (ruling out the slightly kludgy fix of changing the name of 'Main' to 'Content' or somesuch :) ), and I haven't yet found any advice on removing areas. I'm sure it's something fairly simple that I'm missing, but there doesn't seem to be a removeSearchableArea(). Thanks very much for any help anyone can give!

Go into Dashboard > Sitemap > Page Search and find the "Setup Index" link. That should let you choose which areas you index for page content.
