Removing / deleting items from the dashboard

Hi folks,

I just became a fan of c5 and installed it on my local machine to try it out.

can anyone show me how to remove or disable the help, latest news and notes beneath site activity and statistics boxes on the dashboard page. also the help link at the top right next to the signet.

i am using c5 version 5.3.3.1

Easy just copy: /concrete/single_pages/dashboard/view.php

To: /single_pages/dashboard/view.php

Then open up the new copy and edit to your liking.

Thanks Jelthure for the answer. I copied view.php from /concrete/single_pages/dashboard/ and pasted it into /single_pages/dashboard/ and deleted items 2-3 in the code but nothing happened.

I am a bit of a newbie so pardon my ignorance. Do I copy the whole folders or just the view.php file.

Also how do I know which items to delete? Basically I want to delete the help at the top and the one one below the activity box together with latest news and notes.

as long as you're putting the files in the proper location then it should work. are you on a windows? maybe it's a file permissions issue. double check the location, file name, and the file's permissions. any of those could be the issue.
