Restoring database after changing server

I have changed over a site to a new webhost.
However when I go the restore to the latest db it is not available in the panel.
How do I get it uploaded?
I tried installing c5 on the new server using the up-to-date db but it throws up errors so I have had to use the original db sitting on the server.
