reverting from 5.4 to 5.3.3.1 (or just reverting TinyMCE)

This feels heretical, but is it possible to change a 5.4 site back to 5.3.3.1? <gasp>
I'm having an issue with TinyMCE not applying custom styles (detailed athttp://www.concrete5.org/community/forums/customizing_c5/tinymce-cu... ) and am under the gun to launch a site so I'm feeling desperate to make it work.
Or maybe there is a way to change which version of TinyMCE 5.4 uses? (back to the 5.3.3.1 version) No need to throw the baby out with the bathwater.
