Scrapbook Problem - Global Block

Hi all --

So, I'm trying to implement an "hours" block (an html block) into a sidebar on my website. I want this "hours" block to appear on every pagetype in the same place.

I tried copying the block to the scrapbook, and then adding the scrapbook item alias on every other page.

However, when I edit the hours on any page, the changes are only reflected on that page -- for example, if I edit hours on the homepage, save, and browse to the contact page, the hours changes aren't there.

Aren't the items in the scrapbook supposed to be global? Or am I missing something here? In Wordpress, for example, I can include a page into the nav and it would be the same on every successive page. Why isn't this working here?

Watched this and tried:http://vimeo.com/3023508

Any help is appreciated.

when adding the block to the scrapbook, don't add it to your own personal scrapbook (for example "tony's scrapbook" or "admin's scrapbook"). the options on that one are limited for some reason. and then, don't add a copy, but add an alias. that way all instances of that block will be the same one.

we do need to do something better with the two different kinds of scrapbooks because that is causing some confusion.

Tony,
I have made sure I add the Block to the Global scrapbook, and I have meda sure I am using the alias; however, when I change something, it does not reflects the changes on all the instances of that block, I have notice that if I remove all the blocks, and then put them again on place it works, this has happen already in 2 websites I have worked on! is there any solution so it works the first time around?

Thank you

I have noticed that after editing an item in my Global Scrapbook that I have to go the the Dashboard, then SiteWide Settings and click Clear Cache before the changes are reflected across the site. I am not sure if this is normal or not as I am still relative new to this but it may be worth giving it a try.
