Search block returning old result

Hi,
I'm utilising the search page and the search text box within Autonav Pro for my website but for some reason regardless of what I type into the text box or where I type it (on the autonav bar or on the search page itself) the search page keeps returning an old search result.
Am I doing something silly here? Has anyone else experienced the same problem.

Have you run the "Index Search Engine - Updates" Automated Job recently? This is what updates the search index for your site and if it isn't run regularly you will get outdated search results.

Thanks for your response. I didn't make myself really clear in the original post. What I meant to say was that the word searched is an old one (not the results showing), i.e. whatever word I type into the search field it returns the results for 'motivate' (a search I did a while back)

Do you by chance have Full Page Caching turned on? That sounds like an aggressive caching issue.
I do! I've switched it off and it has now made a difference to the search field on the search page - Thanks very much.
However the search field in the Autonav Pro bar is still not behaving (as before) - is there a caching setting that can be applied to specific blocks?
