Separate File Directory in Concrete5

We're trying to incorporate a separate file directory into the overall CMS and I'm looking for the best way to do that. This is essentially a separate site with its own separate database and the only link we need for it to have is just a simple tie-in with the CMS's sitemap. Is our best bet to just create a folder under 'single pages' and make it work that way?
