I've searched, but I can't quite find an answer to what I want to do

I want to set up a website with about 80-100 products.

The site does not want to be transactional at this stage. If buying the eCommerce add on handles products best I will do that so long as prices etc do not 'have' to be setup and displayed.

I would also like to randomly pull products and place them on the homepage.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.
