Show page description in autonav

Hello - i was wondering if anyone would mind show me the code needed, if its possible - to add a page description to my page and then show that short description together with the page name in the autonav?
hope some of you clever people know how to do this.

Isn't it better to use Page List? It does exactly what you need - gives navigation with descriptions...

In case I still want to display page description in the autonav, how can I do it?
The reason for this is that pagelist does not support highlighting for current pages!
