Simple Php Block - Displays Nothing of the Syndicated Content

Hi,
I'm not very familiar with PHP, but the site I am working on has C5 5.6.3.3. I am trying to add syndicated content from a vendor the client works with often. I have the PHP code from the vendor website (along with ASP, ASPX, JSP, and CFM versions). I am trying to get the PHP code to display on the C5 site.
I have installed the PHP Block from the add-on store (free). I pasted the PHP code from the vendor site into the PHP block on the C5 site, but nothing displays. It's completely blank. Does anyone have any suggestions about what I could be doing wrong? I typically work in 5.7+, but this site was already built using 5.6. I can include the PHP code if necessary.
