The calendar icon is css generated. You do have total flexibility to adjust the month and day layout, size, color, and spacing. They are then overlaid on top of an image. so you can pretty much make it look any way you want with css.
Having said that, I am not sure image generated dates are in the foreseeable future. :-P
I do intend to release some free blocks. However, this package really took some work. BUT !!!! It is my intention to keep the cost extremely affordable. I am aiming for $25.
I am considering offering a basic version with no recurring event, date block (from-to), or map linking options for free. not sure how useful that would be though.
