Simplesite

Is there anyway of getting the simple site functionality available for servers to implement the multisite functionality that is available with Wordpress' Multisite plugin. I have been working with Concrete 5 for over 4 years, spent thousands of dollars in plugins, built many sites and would hate to have to finally give Wordpress a try when I see the functionality I need being used by the core team.

Initially I wanted the subdomain based server but that wasn't updated to any of the last few major releases, they are multi domain add ons that don't do what I need, but the previous demo functionality for 5.6 that was on concrete5's site worked perfectly as well as the new simplesite functionality.

Is there anyway that I could get 5.6's demo or subdomain functionality or 5.7's simplesite functionality on my server?

The code for 5.6 demos is public and you could pretty easily adapt that to 5.7, as far as I know, there are no plans to release SimpleSites code to the public.

The demo setup I see is available to public is the one for addon developers which resets, that is actually not what I need. The core team had a solution on the concrete5.org site that allow me as a visitor to add a name and create a subdomain site, this is the basic functionality I am looking for. The demo script just resets the content from what I can recall.

I thought they open-sourced it, but they apparent have not.

If I remember correctly it was an external form that used the CLI installer with a cron job to clear out old sites.
