Slideshow Block question

Is it possible to add a slideshow block and have have of the picture be a static slogan and the rest be a picture that fades in and out. I'd like for the slogan to be text not an image.
What I'm looking for is something similar to this...www.www.ukindesigns.com/church/index.html...
The main header window is a jquery slideshow but the orange part is text and a join us button links to the contact page.
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

growthcurve,
Thanks.. I think I know what to do. Just one last question. How do you get two blocks side by side? Don't they have a default gutter or something like that?

To have two blocks next to each other you need to (as Growthcurve mentioned above) create a new layout.
Add to main ( or whichever area you want)>> Add new layout>> customise your layout. So if you have two columns then you can place your blocks in those two columns with 0 spacing.

1. Create a layout within the area that you'd like to have the slider. Set it so that there is 0 spacing between sections, and it should be 2 columns, 1 row. The static area should be smaller, of course.
2. Put any slider you like into the larger area.
3. In the smaller area, put in your static content.
Really, it all comes down to design and technique. The method above will give the illusion of having a static section on a slideshow, when really it's just a separate area.
I hope that helps?
