Sort / Category Feature

Is there a sort by category feature available in any of the add-ons? If so, what is the best one to use?
Here is what I am trying to do. Our group sets up events on a regular basis. There could be 12-15 going on at a time. Our group wants to have the ability to give a viewer of our site the ability to sort these events by category, meaning, only show the trips going to asia or mexico or only show the trips in june, something like that.
Is there an add-on that allows this? We already use Concrete5 as our CMS and I really don't want to deviate from it to another CMS just because of this feature.

there are ways you can do this for free but they require much more work.
