Stack permissions
Permalink
Hi,
I've got a site with advanced permissions, set up with permissions inheriting from Page Type Defaults. So far so good.
However - My "Editor" user, no matter what I do, can not edit or manage a Stack. I've set permissions to the Stack to override the page, and there's no reference to Stack permissions in Area Permissions.
Where am I going wrong?

Shot in the dark, but have you checked the permissions for the Stack page in the dashboard?
Does "Manage Stack Contents" appear for the editor? If so, what happens when it's clicked?

Go to sitemap, options - show system pages,
select stacks, set permissions, change Set from "By Area of Site (Hierarchy) to "Manually",
Then click the "Add User" button to choose your editor,
select the editing options that you need by ticking the relevant boxes,
Finally click "Save"
That should do it..

I've done this and can now see "manage stack contents" as the editor - however I just get bumped to the login page when selecting it.
Got it. I had to explicitly grant access to the Stacks dashboard page also.
Just wanted to add my thanks for this thread. Editing the permissions through the full sitemap worked for me as I too was having the exact same issue.
Surely there's a way to enable people other than Admins to edit them?
