Stacks and Blocks and Templates
Permalink
Hello, just discovered concrete5 and am thrilled, plan on using it for a lot of my clients.
Anyway, having problems getting my head around a stack/block issue. Basically I have 2 blocks that I want together, one with a title and the other with some info. These will be repeated with different content many times on the same page and others. I created a stack with both blocks, and it is great to use that, since I have a lot of formatting on the 2 blocks. However, I really need to be able to edit the info inside while retaining the styles, basically changing the text of the 2 blocks while keeping all of the formatting, colors, borders, etc.
I do see how to save styles and such to apply to each block, but want to be able to add these 2 blocks together without fussing around adding one at a time, selecting the style, then editing them. Is there some function where you can have a stack design, but with editable content, ie each stack looks the same but different text? I can do each block, copy/paste after the first one or apply styles, but wanted to make sure I hadn't missed some feature working with a group of blocks.
I read up on the custom template info, and may end up designing one for what I need, but did not want to reinvent the wheel in case I missed something. Looked thru the forums, etc, and came up with helpful but not quite there stuff.
Any suggestions appreciated :)
Thanks!

Another avenue is to use Designer Content to create a custom block instead of grouping other blocks.
Yes, this is definitely an ideal use case for the free Designer Content addon --http://concrete5.org/marketplace/addons/designer-content...
Thanks for all the ideas, I knew there must be a way, but with all the options out there, it takes a while to figure out how to look for what you want. Will check all the ideas out, thanks so much!
