Stacks in Page Defaults

Permalink 1 user found helpful
I've run into a problem where I am unable to get a stack to appear in existing pages. I create my stack, go to Page Types, edit the Defaults and add my stack. The stack does not appear on existing pages, but if I create a new page(s) after adding the stack, it appears correctly. I'm using Concrete 5.5.1 and the Slate theme (but have tried other themes with the same results).

Am I doing something wrong, or is that expected behavior? Is there a way to update all of the pages of that type?
Thanks.

This is expected behaviour.

You're supposed to click the stack after you've added it and add it to existing pages.

Yeah, just to extend what whimsmedia is saying: like any other block, a stack you add to a defaults page has to be copied out to any existing pages of that type. To do this you click on "Setup on Child Pages" in the menu for that stack, and choose all pages that already exist that you want the stack to be added to. Click save and it should copy them out to any existing pages.

Thanks, Andrew! I couldn't remember the exact name which is, as you said, "Setup on Child Pages".

There's also a video how-to on the site somewhere in case you need more info and have time to do a little digging.

Yes! This information is very helpful. To clarify to someone else looking at this issue, you can find the 'Setup on Child Pages' in the menu during the edit of the Page Type when you are adding the Stack or Block that you want to appear on all pages.
