Startpage is redirected to /home after upgrade to v8.2

Hi,
my colleague just hit the upgrade button - v7.5.4 to v8.2.1 - without reading any system requirements nore backing up the system. He said the upgrade stopped due to PHP not running on the required version. After upgrading PHP to 5.6+ there are still some bugs.
First of all my startpage is redirected to /home. Is there any way to turn this off?
How can i roleback concrete 5 to the prev version?
