Sub Navigation now working...what am I doing wrong?
I followed the documentation to create an un ordered list on the right hand side of my page to display subpages relating to the top level page that the user is on. Both blocks use the autonav block.
For some reason it just won't write out the pages unless I select a specific top level page? I am trying to add this sub page list as a default block on the right column template so it always appears when a user creates a page.
Please can you tell me what this newbie is doing wrong?

you will not see the correct nav while on the page type defaults, but it will work on a regular page which uses that page type. This is because the page type defaults has no children. make sense?
I understood that but I managed to sort it. I hadn't set it to "second level" and then things worked :D
thanks for a response

It can take a while to understand how the c5 autonav works and I still dont understand the display sub pages section fully,
but it goes from
Top Level = all pages at the top of the site directly below home(sometimes containing home depending on template)
Second Level = All pages Below the Top Level by Default this will be the page you are on (assuming you are on a main page)
Third Level = The third level if on the second level this will display the level below
Above - Above the Level you are on
Below - Below the Level you are on
Particular Page - Displays one level below a page of your choice.
You have it working now I see so all good, :)
But if you think of a concrete site as a top down tree, with home being level 0, and each subsequent page being a level added to that.

I spoke to soon. when you click into the subpage things the pages don't show up at all.
Totally lost what the setting should be or if I've missed a check box?

Try Display Page -> at the Second level
Sub Pages -> Relevant sub pages
Sub-Page Levels -> Display sub pages to current + 1
That will display from the second level down and include any sub pages to pages that you are on.
