Taking over a Website with a Developer that is MIA
Permalink 1 user found helpful
I have recently taken over a concrete 5.6 site from a developer that is long gone and is MIA.
The site itself it working properly, and I have access to the admin user.
I was poking around and wanting to updating the website to the latest revision of 5.6 and the associated addons. When trying to get into the addons, it says that:
"The base URL of your site does not match a registered instance of the site. Please click below to authenticate your site again."
I have created my own concrete5.org login (which I'm using to post) but I do not know if there is a way to associate the site with concrete5.org. Even if I do, I don't know if there are licensed items that would be transferred.
Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks!

It is possible that the previous dev had associated the site to the community when under a different address than the current one. Maybe he was under a dev address (something like dev.yoursite.com) or maybe the address changed since then.
If there are licenses they are attached to the concrete5.org account that was attached to this project. If you attach it to your account and you don't have the licenses then that's it. You need the owner of the original account to give you access to their account as all you can do is transfer licenses from one project to another under THE SAME account. You can't transfer licenses from one account to another.

Thank you for your response!
So I see two add-ons that were added to our site. 1 addon seems to be paid and 1 doesn't seem to be in the community site anymore.
I'm assuming everything will still function correctly even if the site isn't connected to the community site anymore, right?

Right. The only problem is you won't be able to update the paid add-on that is still in the marketplace. But as long as it's working correctly and new versions (if any) don't bring new options you need, you're fine.
If you need to update it, just buy a new license I suppose
