Template page

Problem I don't think I can use stacks for. I need a page with a bunch of specific layouts. But in stacks I can't add layouts. Is there a way of making a template page?

If you are using 5.7 to build with, I believe you can add elements and design changes to a page type by selecting the Dashboard icon (furthest to the right in the tool ribbon across the page top) > then scroll down to "Pages & Themes" > in Pages & Themes you'll then see "Page Types" > select the page type you want to change/template and click the "Output" button listed after it. > from there, you'll be able to click "Edit Defaults" (insert blocks/stacks there and save).
Now when you add that page to your site, the new defaults should be displayed.

Hope this helps

I followed until the 'output' button after the page. My only options for each page are defaults, settings, and composer. When I click on defaults it brings me to a empty page but doesn't allow for changes. Settings and composer look like a dead end as well.

I thought when it brought me to the empty page if I clicked edit it would allow me to make changes. Clicking edit didn't do anything.

I'm sorry,
I assumed you were having problems using version 5.7
Are you using 5.6? if so, just click on Defaults. I have a video blog that will walk you through it at http://blog.arvixe.com/using-page-types-editing-to-speed-your-c5-we...

I hope this helps you better

Thank you for the video link. I now know what I need to do, but I'm stuck because I can't edit that page, edit doesn't work. A glitch perhaps because I'm not using 5.7? I'll have to look into updating that and see if that fixes it.

I'd like to create an extra page type, right side bar as it happens to be, but with it's own layout. It doesn't seem too difficult to create a new one.

If editing is not working in 5.6, it is likely there is a problem with your installation. Have you tried the process using a different theme (just in case its theme related)? The theme used in the video is the core Greek Yogurt theme

I switched over to that theme and there was no change. I will look into 5.7. Is it simple to update? Do people have issues?
