Theme installation

I've had this issue before and it's showing up again.
I've uploaded my theme to the root > themes folder, but when I install it, it gets installed to the root > concrete > themes folder.
The last time I just uninstalled the theme and reinstalled and it installed correctly. This time that hasn't worked.
Anyone know why this happens and how I can fix it?

if the theme is in package form it should be placed in the root/packages folder before installation.
I figured it out...I misnamed my default.php with a typo. Once I changed the name to default.php and re-uploaded, it made it into the correct directory.
