Theme not showing up in "pages and themes"

I downloaded a little HTML theme, made the changes to the default.php page as instructed, added a thumbnail and description.txt, uploaded it to the themes folder of my site, but don't see it when I look in the dashboard.

What could it be?

I looked in pages/themes, that was the subject of my post, or did you mean something else?

sorry, didn't see the title for some reason. Did you upload them to root/themes? and are the perms right?

I am also having this problem (theme doesn't show up in Pages & Themes). My theme is uploaded in concrete/themes/themename and perms are 755.

I figured it out. I was placing the theme in concrete/themes , instead of root/themes.

Can you tell me what perms are ?
Also, I can't see the template within the pages & templates section ?
Is there a limit of how many can be loaded or shown within this area ?
I have a number of templates I've loaded via the concrete5 marketplace, but they don't show up in the list in any of the directories within concrete5 on my computer ?

What am I doing wrong ?

Thanks

I believe he abbreviated permissions.
If you've been downloading themes and add-ons from the marketplace, they are loaded in the "Packages" folder. From the dashboard, you'll add them to your site from the "Add Functionality" tab in the dashboard. After installing there, themes can be activated from the "Pages and Themes" tab in the dashboard
