Tiny MCE -> 404 error: click on Image / HTML openes new window with error
Permalink
Hi
I have installed C5 on 2 domains on a 1&1 (1and1 / 1und1) server. On both tiny does not work properly. On a different host everything is just fine!
When I click (in tiny mce) on insert image (not the C5 link, but the tiny link) of the html code a new windows opens (I disabled inlinepopups):
On one of the 2 domains NOTHING at all shows up! 0 byte file!
On the 2nd domain I get at least a "page not found" error.
Nevertheless: Problem is that there IS NO error.log file on the server! When I access the server by FTP I can see access.log and ft.log, but no error.log.
It also seems that I can not use php... config flags in .htaccess
CHmode on tiny directories: 755
Any idea?
Any way I can easily use a different wysiwyg editor?
Olaf

Hi Uwe,
thanks a lot for the answer. I will look into your suggestion - any may try to get an update of the 1&1 product.
I will post the results here - as after my search on the net I am convinced, that there are many people with the same problem.

Hi,
nothing helped so far. If you find any empty pages about this topic - that's probably because I read all the letters there. NO, not the very least success.
I switches the php version back to 5.2 - same.
Very strange though:
I installed the 5.4.1.1 with the 1-click-app-install in the 1&1 controll center. With this everything works smooth. But this is NO help either: I can not change layout nor install add-ons/themes from the marketplace with the 1-click-app. I do not know why 1and1 offers this if you can not change anything in the layout.
I then thought I copy the complete 1-click-app folder down to my local harddisk.
I tried to install 5.4.1.1 myself using ftp and webbrowser - this does not work anymore with the php 5.4 version. (I thought I might be able to upgrade step by step and see what the heck breaks tiny. No luck as I can not install.
I then used the 1-click-app php.ini and .htaccess for my own installation (5.6.1.2 with custom layout and several add-ons ... which by the way do NOT interfere with tiny, I tested this on a different domain): NO luck again. Same problem.
I have also reuploaded C5 several times, I did check on permissions of tiny folder/files. I removed the german language file from BE and uploaded C5 completely again - no luck.
My installation sits (for development) in a subfolder "www.domain.de/c5". I am now trying to move the complete site to the root level, but I am pretty sure it will NOT work.
I am begging for the new editor, as after probably 30 hours of bug tracking and trying to fix this I am still not able to get it up and running.
I would be happy about any help I can get - and I can not imagine, I am the only one with this company. Uh, I also contacted them twice by phone, no luck there. Their FAQ doe php did not state any help. I also tried to set document.domain = 'domain.de'; in tiny_mce_popup.js - nothing.
Also tried to download the very latest version of tiny itself from their webseite - no luck (you did expect this by now - right?).
The error console did not throw any JS error/warning concerning tiny. Just some CSS errors.
Well I added my own php error log: Nothing strange here!
Any ideas?

php error logging is not available for standard 1&1 hosted sites. You could try installing some php sources to achieve something similar: as far as I remember, 1&1 has some hints about this in their online help/support archives. It basically activates a separate logfile in your webspace and logs everything - in your case, it needs to be called somewhere within the source of tiny mce, probably the main loop...
BTW have you checked the different php versions (they offer 4, 5.2, 5.4, dev...)?
HTH
