Too many errors. Have to start new?

Permalink
I'm not sure exactly which forum this belongs in, so I apologize if this should be in editing in lieu of building.

I've had my concrete5 website on line for over 3 years now and have updated it and revised it many times. Some of the plug-ins that I installed previously have remnants and errors that are making it extremely difficult to edit and modify my site.

For example, if I try to add a block, I get the following error:

Warning: require_once(/home/izdesi5/public_html/packages/dynamic_iframe/blocks/dynamic_iframe/controller.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/izdesi5/public_html/updates/concrete5.6.1.2_updater/concrete/core/libraries/loader.php on line 214

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/izdesi5/public_html/packages/dynamic_iframe/blocks/dynamic_iframe/controller.php' (include_path='/home/izdesi5/public_html/libraries/3rdparty:/home/izdesi5/public_html/updates/concrete5.6.1.2_updater/concrete/libraries/3rdparty:.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/izdesi5/public_html/updates/concrete5.6.1.2_updater/concrete/core/libraries/loader.php on line 214

I've tried cleaning this out but have had no luck. and I am ready to just scrape the website and start new.

Is there still hope to repair my website? It would probably save time if it can be done since all of my content will remain mostly unchanged.

If its best to start new, I've been looking for a process that would allow me to maintain my website while I develop the new one, then switch it out so downtime is minimized. Can someone point me in the right direction for a tutorial on how to do this?

Please advise!

Thanks in advance,

Zach

Are you still using the dynamic_iframe addon in your site?

No. Dynamic iframe is not compatible with the current version of concrete5. I can not uninstall it through the dashboard and have attempted, but failed to remove it manually.

What about deleting it from the Dashboard -> Block Types? Is that what you meant by removing it manually?
izdesign replied on at Permalink Reply
That is what I meant by removing it through the dashboard. It could not be removed through this method.

By manually, I meant by editing the files directly.

Now when I try to get to dashboard -> blocks, I get the following error:

Warning: require_once(/home/izdesi5/public_html/packages/dynamic_iframe/blocks/dynamic_iframe/controller.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/izdesi5/public_html/updates/concrete5.6.1.2_updater/concrete/core/libraries/loader.php on line 214

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/izdesi5/public_html/packages/dynamic_iframe/blocks/dynamic_iframe/controller.php' (include_path='/home/izdesi5/public_html/libraries/3rdparty:/home/izdesi5/public_html/updates/concrete5.6.1.2_updater/concrete/libraries/3rdparty:.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/izdesi5/public_html/updates/concrete5.6.1.2_updater/concrete/core/libraries/loader.php on line 214

So did you manually delete the root/packages/dynamic_iframe folder?

Yes.

You may want to try putting the folder back if you have it.
izdesign replied on at Permalink Reply
I don't have it. I removed the folder and attempted to edit the code as a last resort due to a similar message regarding the dynamic iframe plugin.

I have been unable to place new blocks for the previous two versions of concrete5 that I have had installed. The only way I can edit my blocks is to use the clipboard, so I'm stuck using blocks that are already installed elsewhere on my site.

I'm truly ready to start clean if I have to, but only if I have to.

Dynamic iframe was not the only plugin that was outdated and would not uninstall through the dashboard.

You should be able to re-download any of those addons from your profile.

This post has instructions on getting rid of addons manually, including the database.

I've tried that. I think I'm doing something wrong, they do not show up in any search that I've tried through the dashboard. I can find them in the marketplace but when I click on edit on under dynamic iframe - 1.5 in add functionality, nothing happens. The current version of the plugin is 1.61. Is it possible to manually update these files through my ftp?

To redownload the addon? If your logged in to concrete.org (which I assume are currently given the fact you are posting) and click on the My Account link at the top, then click Transactions on the right, then click Licenses on the right, then look to find the addon there. You should have the ability to download the addon. Then upload the addon zip file via ftp to your root/packages folder. Then extract the zip file into the root/packages folder.
