I have downloaded Concrete 5 but now what do I do? Struggling!

how big is your magazine and how many hits per day do you think you will get?

also have you played around with it so you basically know how it works?

also what do you want to do with c5?

Thanks for the reply.
In answer - I have a R&D site at the moment, which I know is not navigationally or user friendly. wwww.horsetalkgoesfrench.com

It has been working so well and in great demand. Therefore I want to re launch this in a far superior and professional manner hence C5 with zen as the server.
I am planning to re do the whole concept with a mother site which I have the domain name for, this will be classifieds, forums and trade directory and from this will be the horsetalk site AND country life site.

So I am hoping to have a good all round product.

We were on course for a launch now, albe it in a different and bigger capacity, but my IT person decided that they wanted a majority share of the revenue, once they saw the potential and sabotaged the whole workings, which was on joomla, when I refused to be blackmailed!

I am using C5 because I have to go this alone and think it will be more straightforward for me.

Thank you

This is the initial part that I do not know what to do with. i tried unzipping by downloading winzip, which did not work, I then researched and found that winzip doeas not do this and so tried it in another unzip. that still did nothing. I just need to load it so I can start to use it!
start instructions -

# c5 is package of files that need to be uncompressed and placed on your webserver. It is not a single file or app that will be run on your local computer.)
# Make sure your config/ directory is writable by a web server. (Note, this is the config/ directory in the root of the archive).
# Make sure files/ and its subdirectories are writable by the Apache process (or the world.)
end instructions;

sorry in answer to the questions I have been receiving between 2/3,000 hits per week and at peak times 5000. This is with no publicity so with the new format and lots marketing I am expecting lots more.
Thanks

thank you for the reply.

I have managed to download and unzip so I have lots of files within a folder in my documents. Is this correct?

I am now trying to download to the webserver which is where I hit a blank.

Am I correct in that I shoumd be in file manager for public html? I have made a folder concrete but when I come yo upload it says the first layer of folders are empty and so does nothing and then if I go to the concrete folder which is the second one within these, I find a whole host of folders with content. However on trying to download these it will not open any to download. If I go on another three layers then I can do it but that means that there are hundreds and I am concerned at downloading in this way incase I miss one file as it is so complex. is this the correct way to do it though?

I do appreciate your help and apologise at my obvious ignorance. i just have to get this done and catch up somehow. thank you

i'm scrolling all forums to get advice and just had a thought - i have my domain name hosted with zen with a gold cpanel. i am trying to upload to the file manager on this. is this right or am I barking up completely the wrong thing?

Re the web host edit that I have just seen. Yes that is true free webs was the R&D site and is still active. However I have set up with Zen as the new host and have a gold cpanel with new domain name. I will be making this a pro site and bringing the content over with all new material too. thats why I feel I need a cms and .php site.

I did have one almost ready to launch with joomla on just host server, until it was sabotaged and my whole pc virused!

Thank you.
