trouble with concrete 5
Permalink
newb here.
i am having difficulty with setting images, and the page the way i like.
am i supposed to use joopla, or another content editor, or is concrete a stand alone site builder.
i was really frustrated that the My Site is so tedious to change, and also the layout.
i cannot get a banner on the top of the screen, or at the bottem, and i cannot figure out how to alter the text / links at the bottom. and remove the login text at the very bottom too.
for example, it reads this;
concrete5 - open source CMS © 2011 mysite.com. All rights reserved. Install concrete5 web hosting Sign In to Edit this Site.......... how do i alter this ?
thanks in advance...

thanks for the reply.
once i buy the theme, can i re-use it on all my pages, or are these purchases a 1 time use?
is there a trial before i buy.
i cant just start buying things based on a 9 word summary, that most have...maybe a pic, but it seems too risky and cumbersome to buy them.
and...most importantly, when i change the theme, do i have to re-start the build of the site, or is it migrated over automatically?

sorry for your troubles. There is always a learning curve when it comes to working with a Content Management System. However, you will probably find that Concrete5 is the easiest to learn and use.
To answer a few of your questions:
1. Concrete5 is indeed a stand alone website creator.
2. You might consider getting a different template that was built with more flexibility such as editing headers and footers etc...
3. If you want to stick with the theme that you have then you will need to edit the footer.php file in your theme's 'elements' folder which can be founder on your server. Access it by using an FTP program or your cpanel's file manager.
