Unable to connect to database

Permalink
I have a fairly early version install of C5 site that is coming up with this error.

Unable to connect to database.
A database error occurred while processing this request.

http://www.mallorcaorganics.com/concrete/index.php...

The database is fine but doesn't seem to be connecting with the C5 install. Has anyone any idea what might be the issue? Here is my config file in case this sheds any light.

<?php
define('DB_SERVER', 'localhost');
define('DB_USERNAME', 'xxxx');
define('DB_PASSWORD', 'xxxx');
define('DB_DATABASE', 'organics_mallorcaorganics');
define('BASE_URL', 'http://www.mallorcaorganics.com');
define('DIR_REL', '/concrete');
define('PASSWORD_SALT', 'xxxxxxxx');
?>

Any help would be gratefully received getting a bit anxious about it...

Hi chassa2556,

First, I would double check that the spelling of the database settings are correct, any typos will cause this error.

If you are still getting the error, then I would recommend contacting the hosting company, as they may be experiencing issues which can cause the mySQL servers to give such errors.

Is your database on the same server as your installation of Concrete5, or are connecting remotely?

Was this working and suddenly stopped? or are you migrating to a new server?

Thanks for that I have tried setting up a fresh install on the home directory. It is finding the C5 install but coming up with this error at the top of the page...

Any ideas anyone??
