User created subdomain in real time
Permalink
Hi there,
I've been using C5 for a while now and recently I've been wanting to start a new project. Normally if I get stuck I will Google and find the answer but I seem to be hitting a brick wall with this one.
What I would like to do, is create a site with an area for people to be able to register a username and password and the chosen username will create a subdomain of that name in real time. So if they visit my site "www.example.com" and register their username as "username" they will then be redirected tohttp://www.username.example.com this will then be a portion of my website that can be editable by that user, with certain restrictions for security.
I have looked at "Setup a subdomain based demo server" but it looks like this is only compatible with version 5.4 and below.
If anyone can provide me with information about how I can achieve this, it would be much appreciated.
Many thanks.
