Using GIS Servers with Concrete5

Concrete5 is a great CMS and the google "blocks" and now openlayer "blocks" provide some simple mapping features. But when a site calls for more robust mapping features that are beyond the simple features, I am stumped about the direction to proceed.

For example, Drupal uses a mapping kit of modules to employ openlayers and mapserver. (https://www.drupal.org/node/326104).

We really like the simplicity of concrete5 -- but is using geoserver or mapserver going to be a deal breaker?
