Using Page Aliases affect on SEO (and alternatives?)
In building a site doing a lot of the following, I'm wanting to know if there is any adverse affect with regards to SEO. And if so, what are better alternatives?
The reason I'm doing the following is due to having products (and product pages) each which can be categorized and grouped (and searched for) in several different ways.
So, I'm using the AutoNav Block and Page List Block features in combination with a lot of Page aliases for product categorization (so each actual product page is then copied/aliased, often several times
In other words, all product pages are under a PRODUCTS Page (folder). However, this is hidden (never used in the Autonav for visitors). Instead, Different "Category" pages are created, and the original product pages are copied/aliased under whichever of these other pages is appropriate. All of these pages are what is being used by the AutoNav block and Page List Block.
I think this is a fairly common way of doing things like this in Concrete5.
I think it's worth a discussion to better understand what affect (if any) there is on SEO, as well as how other Dev's would approach the same challenge (especially if the reason for alternative approaches is because of SEO).

I thought the interest in SEO and this question regarding this feature of Concrete5 and it's impact on SEO would have garnered more response.

I could do the reverse and use robots.txt to tell the search engines to only index the original product pages (and not any of the aliases), but then users are entering the site and possibly bookmarking urls that are under this "hidden" page (which I suppose isn't necessarily a bad thing... ?)
