Using custom templates from theme directory

I would like to know if its possible to call a "template" which is located inside the theme directory and have it apply to a blocks output, a page list for example.
Also what is the procedure for creating a self installing package?

a theme doesn't contain block templates but you can pack both into a package..

I suggest you download something from the marketplace and check it's source.

A very short summary:
- a package has the same structure as concrete5
- a package has its own controller
- the package controller installs blocks, adds attributes and everything else the package needs

that's what i wanted to know. I've been converting regular css templates for urse with c5, but they use a different layout from the default view for c5 blocks. so id need to have it use a template to output, or simply work without the template. the latter it can do, it just doesn't look as good.
thanks for your help.
