version problem

I tried something new and then I want to recover the version saved before, but when i click the version and click approve, there is no change in the webpage, can anyone give some idea why this happens, I think before i also did this, ad it works.

As the owner of the page, you could be seeing the latest (but now unapproved) version. So as well as approving the version you want, you may need to delete subsequent versions.
