Can anyone shed some light on this, this is a screenshot of the default View::render process from Ne Relic (https://newrelic.com/) is shows hundreds, if not thousands of calls to SELECT from the same table again and again.

In this example there is only a small section shown, but it probably amounts to 1200 SELECT calls taking 3.6 seconds. Caching is on, but not full page caching.

Any workarounds or reasons why this happens?
