Website and Sitemap no longer linked

I have a sitemap that is complete, but it is no longer speaking to my website. I screwed up and installed and then uninstalled a program through my hosting service, but got no warning that any files other than those belonging to the program would be lost. Now when I try to navigate through the site, I get 404 errors. My hosting service's last backup was a day before I added the domain in question. An entire two days of building this site are unavailable. It still seems to be on my sitemap, but its gone from the web.
Is there a way to fix this?

might be that your db was only partially erased,
So unless I can figure out what got erase or broken (the permalinks maybe?) and how to restore it, I will have to start from scratch. I'm to new at this to even know how to locate the db let alone look inside it. I guess I'll have to delete the installation and start from scratch. Bugger!
your database is stored via MySql i would ask your host if they have a backup
I can click "visit" while looking at a page listed in my sitemap, and it takes me to the page exactly as I built it. This is true of all 38 pages I have built. But, if I try to connect to the page by typing the URL into my browser's address field, I get a 404 error.
If I have inadvertently erased my C5 database, why does my sitemap contain all that content?
