I have been using C5 for a while and I have to admit that I'm finding it difficult to get it to do what I want.
I have a new project that I am about to start and am a little unsure about whether to use C5 because of these previous problems.
I want to publish a newsletter, so I want a site with a home page and sign up form and then a lots of archive pages for the individual editions.
I tried to do something similar in the past and could not find how to exclude new pages from the bar at the top of the page. Or I could change the word "blog" to "archive" or something like that, but could not find out how to do that either! I finished up loading a few pages onto my site and linking to them from within C5, but I think that defeats the object of using C5 in the first page!
If anyone could point me in the right direction I would be very grateful

Q: (I) could not find how to exclude new pages from the bar at the top of the page.

A: When creating a new page, you'll see an option to 'Exclude from Nav'. Selecting this option will exclude the page from the 'Autonav' at the top of the page. You can still access the 'Properties' option and change the page name after it has been created.

Q: Or I could change the word "blog" to "archive" or something like that, but could not find out how to do that either!

A: To change the name of a page; hover over 'Edit' and select 'Properties'. You'll be able to change the name of the page and an alias will be created. Now; to start writing articles, simply hover over 'Dashboard' and select 'Write' under 'Composer'.

Q: I finished up loading a few pages onto my site and linking to them from within C5, but I think that defeats the object of using C5 in the first page!

A: You can add a new 'Autonav' block to any page and configure it to your liking.

If you'd like to have users sign up; simply enable the 'Public Profiles' option in the Dashboard. Type 'Profiles' in the 'Intelligent Search'.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the help. I am sure I have tried something like this before but failed, but this time it has worked.
I shall persevere!
