What use is the Rating Page Attribute?

Hi all!
I'm not sure how the rating page attribute is of any help because it seems that it can only be rated from within page properties. And this is just my knowledge of it at the moment, so what use is this attribute? A user's opinion matters not mine so I'm puzzled here. :S

Allow me to expand on Chad's glib comment: the rating attribute is meant to store a rating. Nothing more. Other packages such as Chad's can expand upon it to provide interactivity in setting it.
